AS Class Charter 2013 – 2014

It was a good first day back in Class AS with everyone appearing to settle well. Today we created our class charter for the coming year. The children worked in groups to come up with rights and responsibilities before we discussed them as a class. We settled on ten statements which we ranked in order of importance. The class charter is published below.

AS Class Charter 2013 – 2014

 

1)   We have the right to learn.

We have the responsibility to work hard.

 

2)   We have the right to be respected.

We have the responsibility to respect others.

 

3)   We have the right to eat and drink.

We have the responsibility not to waste food and to look after eating areas.

 

4)   We have the right to go to the toilet.

We have the responsibility to keep them tidy and to go at designated times.

 

5)   We have the right to be listened to.

We have the responsibility to listen carefully to others.

 

6)   We have the right to play.

We have the responsibility to play sensibly and to look after the playground equipment.

 

7)   We have the right to use school equipment.

We have the responsibility to look after it.

 

8)   We have the right to have friends.

We have the responsibility not to take them for granted.

 

9)   We have the right to borrow books from the library.

We have the responsibility to treat the books with respect.

 

10)    We have the right to ask questions.

We have the responsibility to make sure they’re sensible.
